If you want to add one of the above DNS records to your domain, follow the procedure described in the article below:
How to change DNS entries for a domain?
Adding your DNS entry, remember to follow these rules:
In the "Host name" field, enter the name of the subdomain for which you are adding your entry. You can use just the subdomain name (for example, mail) or the full Web address (for example, mail.yourdomain.pl). If you are adding an entry to the main domain, leave this field empty or use the "@" sign.
In the "Type of entry" field select the appropriate type.
In the "Value" field enter an appropriate value, according to the rules below.
Depending on the entry type, the correct value for the entry looks as follows:
For A entries: the value must be an IP address, which consists of four numbers divided by dots.
For MX and CNAME entries, the value must be an Internet address (it cannot be an IP address). BEWARE: if the entry is another subdomain in your domain and you provide its full name (for example, mail.yourdomain.pl), it will be changed to a shortened version containing only the subdomain.
For TXT entries, the value depends on the role the entry is supposed to play. You need to obtain a correct value from your hosting provider.
Below you can see an example of a domain configured with these kinds of entries:
Click to zoom in the picture.
The domain domain is directed using the A entry to the IP address 172.16.0.31.
Subdomains www and mail are redirected using the CNAME entries to the same IP address as the main domain.
Incoming e-mails are directed using the MX entry to the mail subdomain.
Using the TXT entry, outgoing e-mails from the domain are only allowed if they originate from the computer designated by the mail subdomain.
