What are the API keys?

API keys are credentials used to authorize operations performed with our website’s API. To call an API function you should use the authorization key to let our website know that an operation is correctly authenticated and can be performed. For each key, you can also create a list of operations that can be performed with the key.

To create an API key, in the website menu, select Account -> Create a new API key.

Click to zoom in the picture.

Enter a name that you want to assign to your key (for example "Auction-listing application") and select from the list the operations to be performed with this key. A limit on the operation number improves the security of your account, especially if the key will be used in an application developed by someone else.

Click to zoom in the picture.

After creating a key, you will receive two character strings: the key and the password for the key. Save them in a safe place, because you have to use them in an application that uses the key.

Click to zoom in the picture.

You can see the list of API keys, which you created in your account, by going to the menu and selecting Account -> List of API keys.

Click to zoom in the picture.
